First 2016 Camaro SS to Pull 9s Quarter Mile Is High on Nitrous, Breaks Rear

About one month. That's how long it took the 2016 Camaro to grab the kind of aftermarket attention that other cars take one or two years to receive. As a result, GM's muscle car has now descended into the 9s quarter mile area.

As we recently told you, the 2016 Camaro has now covered the three main power adders, since we have an example that's high on nitrous, one that packs a supercharger and a car that has gone down the twin-turbo route.

We're here to focus on the nitrous Camaro SS, a vehicle we've been keeping an eye on ever since it pulled a 10.6s quarter mile in early December 2015.

The machine comes from Oklahoma-based B&R Performance, which has dipped even further into the potential of the 2016 generation's Corvette-borrowed LT1. The massaged slab of GM now packs the 150 shot of nitrous we've already seen, along with a few engine mods - the most important is a custom cam setup.

The Chevy was taken to the drag strip, where, in the name of science, it became the first 2016 Camaro SS to pull a 9s pass. To be more specific, this 2016 Camaro went as quick as 9.83s at 138 mph (158 km/h).

The tuner was determined to extract every bit of performance out of the package, but adding a considerable amount of muscle and pulling torturing launches caused the passenger side axle to break. The Camaro is now getting a fresh set of axles, built by GForce Engineering

The company explains the weather wasn't exactly helpful, either. As a result, they went back to the tuning board, and we expect them to come back with an even faster piece of American metal.

These days, you never know what new Camaro SS project you'll come across when you wake up in the morning, so stay tuned for more on this topic.

Porsche Does 360-Degree Spin in 911 GT3 to Prove a Point

When you buy a 911 GT3, you're basically paying a team of German engineers who are obsessed with precision, receiving a piece of lap time machinery in return. However, those who doubt the GT3 can also serve as an extreme weapon for spinning shenanigans are wrong.

You don't even have to trust us on this one and that's because Zuffenhausen has sent us all a message, in the form of the footage below. The clip shows a GT3 pulling 360-degree stunt on a wet surface.

You can see a Porsche driving instructor (and his entertained passenger smiling under her shades, for that matter) manhandling the machine from start to finish.

Let's talk about what makes spinning or drifting a Porsche such an intense experience

So what makes a Porsche spin so special? The answer lies in the aspect that makes the 911 itself unique and that's the rear-engined layout.

While the stunt mentioned above seems almost natural, you can see the GT3 resisting for a few brief moments, just before the maneuver is completed. Sure, the engine now sits closer to the car than ever before and the GT3's rear axle steering is a blessing, but physics will always be physics.

In fact, much of the thrills you get from using a Porsche for such shenanigans is this attitude of the car. You can feel the 991 generation's technical advances joining forces with the driver in the quest for taming that weight at the back of the car.

We've seen the automaker integrating more and more tire-burning activities in its promotional efforts over the last few years and the reason for that is simple. With drifting and other moves of the sort becoming more and more popular, all Porsche had to do was to step out of its Le Mans-winning driving comfort zone.

Mercedes-Benz Sheds Some Light on the New E-Class with a Headlamps Teaser

With Christmas still a very vivid memory, you’ve probably had enough of flashing LEDs to last until next time Santa will be visiting, so please excuse Mercedes-Benz for finding the worst possible time to show us its new MULTIBEAM LED headlamps.

The lighting technology has moved ahead rapidly. It was only a few years ago that we were very excited about the cornering ability of our xenon lights, and more recently we’ve been given the opportunity to forget about the high beam switch, allowing a computer to take care of that.

Initially, LEDs were used on cars for their exceptional output/energy consumption ratio, but somebody quickly realized that their small size was a great asset too. Unlike before, the headlamp didn’t have to be made up of a single light source for the road lights and one for the high beam - a housing of the same size could host plenty of high-power LEDs, allowing the engineers to use them at will.

We’ve all seen the Tesla Christmas light show, but that’s not what we’re having in mind here. Since the purpose of the headlights is to ensure maximum visibility during nighttime without becoming a nuisance for the other drivers, the idea of the “smart headlamp” came about.

Mercedes-Benz wasn't the first company to use multiple LEDs (or an LED matrix) for creating dark cones that protect the other drivers from glare on a production vehicle, but it quickly made up the lost ground and it now offers a very powerful solution on most of its models. And since it’s Mercedes-Benz, it also got an all-capital letters name: MULTIBEAM LED.

Things escalated quickly, and now the new E-Class has no less than 84 individually controlled high performance LEDs that will light up everything that matters up ahead while also sparing everyone that might be blinded by the strong fascicle of light.

Yeah, it’s not exactly the type of feature that will make you say “shut up and take my money,” but it is impressive when witnessed for the first time, not to mention it’s a very important safety boost. And Mercedes-Benz is also marching on another aspect: design. Doing away with the voluminous bulbs means the designers have a lot more freedom to create beautiful shapes that better reflect the new direction the Stuttgart brand is headed towards. See for yourself in the video below.

Pagani Teases Us Again with an Extreme Version of the Huayra

The folks at Pagani seem to have some big plans for this new year start. Right before the world got ready to celebrate the New Year, the Italian company posted a picture of a unique Huayra model on its official Facebook page.

While the “huayrabc” hashtag that accompanied the car is new and it is not yet known what the “bc” letters stand for, the car itself isn’t that new. This particular hypercar was spied in October 2015, during a stint on the San Marina del Lago racetrack, in Italy.

The circuit hasn’t been chosen by mistake, as it is very close to Pagani’s headquarters, in San Cesaria sul Panaro, where the company founded by Horacio Pagani upgraded their workshop with a new, state-of-the-art factory.

This new establishment is expected to be the birthplace of this ultra-fast version, as well as a roadster edition of Pagani’s latest model.

A badass version of the Huayra is kind of a logical move, as all the 100 examples of the standard car have already been allocated, and rivals such as the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta or the Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce are challenging the vehicle’s hypercar status, so it is time for the Italian company to revitalize the market.

The teased model will only be offered to 20 lucky customers, but you have to know that it isn’t enough to have a couple of million dollars at your disposal, you must also be a Huayra client in order to be eligible for the purchase.

Although it has a massive aero package, this won’t be a track-only dream such as the mighty Zonda R. And to save you from getting your phone out and trying to scan the QR codes that wrap the entire car, we’ll tell you that they only say “to be continued.”

Most likely, the #huayrabc will be revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, this spring.

John Surtees Awarded CBE Honors, Still Not a Knight Despite Being a Living Racing Legend

John Surtees was appointed a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the New Year’s Honours List. Now, aged 81, Surtees is one of the biggest names in last century's road racing scene on both two and four wheels.

A former GP500 rider, Surtees also raced in the 350cc class, and after hanging his motorcycle leathers, he went on to win the Formula 1 championship. Surtees has no less than four 500cc world titles to his name, as he dominated the 6th decade of the 20th century.

John Surtees was crowned a World Champion in the motorcycle Grand Prix in 1956, 1958, 1959 and 1960, but he also took the 350cc title in '58, '59 and '60. During three years (1958-1960), Surtees authoritatively dominated the two-wheeled racing scene, winning 32 out of the 29 GP rounds, including five of the six GP rounds at the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, in the 350cc and 500cc classes.

The only man in history to have won both the GP and Formula 1 championships

John Surtees, CBE, remains, to date, the only racer to have won both the motorcycle GP and Formula 1 world titles. Judging by how things roll today, it will be still a long time until someone manages to achieve the same performance.

After joining Formula 1 at the beginning of the '60s, John Surtees won the World Championship in 1964 and then ran his own team until 1972. He is also the oldest Formula 1 and motorcycle GP world champion alive, after Jack Brabham died in 2014, and Geoff Duke passed away last year.

Looking back at his legendary achievements in sport, it's still not clear why he wasn't knighted already, as what he has done for the Empire is more than recommendable for such an honor. And not posthumously, as some believed about Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister would be.

TateDesign Turns a Mercedes-Benz GLE450 AMG Coupe into a Chiropractor’s Dream

Essentially, tuning can have two purposes that sometimes (or most of the times) overlap: making a car go faster or making it look better, while at the same time differentiating its outside appearance from the other stock vehicles of the same model.

But every once in a while come these attempts that can only be explained by an unnatural desire of the tuner to make all the chiropractors on a 50-mile radius extremely rich. There is no other possible explanation, as these wheels will definitely not improve a car’s handling or performance ratings, nor will they make it look better for anyone with a functioning pair of eyes and an ounce of common sense.

We’re well aware of the Donk phenomenon, but unfortunately this effort by TateDesign, despite being extremely ridiculous, isn’t ridiculous enough to fit in that category. It falls a few inches short, as this Mercedes-Benz GLE450 AMG Coupé 4MATIC “only” uses 26-inch Forgiato wheels.

For reference purposes, use the magenta Cadillac SRX that pops into view every now and then - you’ll know what we’re talking about once you see it. That’s a proper dump... sorry, Donk of a car. Next to it, the Mercedes-Benz looks like a noob’s work.

And it’s not just the size of the wheels that’s over the top - their design is equally distressing. TateDesign has managed to match the matte red finish of the wrapped body to the red accents on the otherwise black wheels, but that’s probably the only good thing we can say about the transformation. Well, perhaps the foil itself would have looked nice with a set of smaller (if 22” can be called “small”), less busy wheels, but we’ll probably never know. Instead, we’ll be forever scarred with the image of this nice vehicle rendered useless just for the sake of looking different.

Anyone who has ever ridden a bicycle knows how important tire pressure is to comfort - too stiff, and you’ll feel every speck of dust on the road. Well, imagine what it must be like driving this GLE450 AMG Coupé. Forget about AIRMATIC suspension or Comfort riding mode - your kidneys are going to ask for a transfer while your spine will slowly grind to a fine powder. Which, on the bright side, will probably make you look just as different from a human being as this transformation makes the GLE450 AMG Coupé from a regular car.

Faraday Future Concept Leaked on iTunes App. Maybe

The mysterious, Chinese- and U.S. Government-backed Faraday Future may have inadvertently leaked some pretty important information about its upcoming concept car, set for an official reveal at the 2016 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

A Twitter user called superannuation was surfing Faraday Future's iTunes app, which was apparently released a bit too early, and came across the images in the adjacent gallery. All of them are screenshots and presumably show a good deal of info, including most of the upcoming concept car's exterior.

As you can see, the model looks like it was penned for the Vision Gran Turismo series, with a good deal of superhero-mobile design cues sprinkled on top. The two most impressive details are probably represented by the vertical tail fin that can also act as an “advanced digital canvas display,” and what appears to be a single-seat interior, like in an advanced jet fighter.

There does seem to be some method to this madness, though, as a Batmobile, pod-like concept car is one of the best vehicles to unveil as a startup car company that smelled a bit like “vaporware” until those investments started amassing.

There aren't many words about the model's specifications, but the screenshots tell us about a 1,000+ horsepower electric motor(s) with “quad core drive,” a 0-60 mph time of fewer than 3 seconds, a top speed of 200+ mph, and a “customizable modular battery string technology” thingamajig.

The cockpit seems to be designed to offer quite a decent amount of comfort for the “pilot,” whether he's actively driving it or is just driven autonomously.

We'll know more details once the concept car is revealed later on at CES 2016, but if these screenshots are the real deal, our minds have already been blown. The only question remaining refers to how many bits and pieces found on the concept will be kept for the first Faraday Future production car.

X Marks the Spot for BMW, Who Expects a Significant Increase in SUV Demand in 2016

If you thought (or hoped) that 2016 would be the year when the crossover and SUV craze would take a break, you were wrong. At least that’s what BMW is trying to tell us - and let’s face it, it might know a little bit more about the market and its trends than you and I do.

With 2015 over, we can now talk clear numbers about what last year meant for the automotive industry in North America and, in this particular case, BMW. The overall numbers are still to arrive, but one thing is certain, and it won’t make the eco-warriors very happy: BMW X models have accounted for 34 percent of the total 2015 US sales made by the Bavarian brand. More than a third represents a very significant chunk of the pie, even more so when you consider that only the fully-fledged X models were taken into account, ignoring the X-Drive-equipped sedans or wagons.

But if Ludwig Willisch, CEO of BMW North America, is to be believed, the only way to go for the crossover fraction is up. Speaking to Automotive News, he has said that the company expects the SUV share to rise all the way to 40 percent at the end of 2016. And there are solid facts to back his claim.

Simply put, BMW’s plants can’t produce enough X model SUVs. Over the first nine months of last year, the demand exceeded the supply, and the launch of the new and vastly improved X1 will probably make things even worse. Or better, depending on which end of the stick you are.

The remarkable detail about this growing need for large, mostly all-wheel-drive vehicles is that it happened despite an overall slump of the Chinese market. Now, BMW is expanding its Spartanburg, South Carolina plant, a move which will increase production by over 30 percent to a total of 450,000 units per year.

After a less than impressive November, the final month of the year lived up to its expectations making sure BMW ended 2015 on a high. In fact, BMW has been the top selling marque in the US ever since it gained the crown back in 2011 from Lexus. But the real challenges lie ahead, as its two main European rivals are starting to freshen up their SUV lineups, which should provide plenty of competition in the upcoming years.

But BMW isn’t sitting idle, Willisch mentioning the X7 model that will be available “in a couple of years.” The full-sized SUV will be the first such vehicle ever in BMW’s range and should go up against the recently refreshed Mercedes-Benz GLS, which by that time will be nearing its replacement date.

Tesla Publishes Its 2015 Delivery Figures. They're Pretty Good

Tesla Motors, one of the biggest names in the EV market, has recently stated that the company delivered 17,400 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2015 and a total of 50,580 throughout the entire year.

The Palo Alto-based carmaker has released figures that show that 17,192 Model S vehicles were delivered in the fourth quarter of 2015, which means a 48% growth over the prior quarter and 75% more than Q4 of last year. The company also delivered 208 Model X cars, in line with the early stages of the model production ramp, according to Tesla. The daily production range for the Model X has also increased to 238 vehicles being produced every week.

There is still a small margin - under 1% - to these numbers, as the American company insists on defining a delivery only if the car is transferred to the end customer and all paperwork is correct.

Although these figures show some progress, Tesla might want to step up its game in the near future. A lot of companies, mostly Chinese-backed, like Faraday Future which will launch its first concept car at the 2016 International Consumer Electronics Show, the Shanghai-based NextEv, or Atieva, are all aiming to uncrown Tesla Motors.

Faraday Future seems to be Tesla’s main rival, at least on paper, as recently the Chinese-backed company received a $335 million motivation package from the Nevada lawmakers. This move raised a lot of questions because giving away that much money to a company that hasn’t unveiled a concept car yet nor released any other products on the market doesn't sound like a very good idea.

The same Nevada legislators were kind enough to Tesla too, as they offered a $1.3 billion motivational package for the company to build its battery manufacturing factory outside Reno.

Tesla Motors was founded back in 2003 by Elon Musk, Martin Eberhard, Marc Tarpenning, JB Straubel and Ian Wright. The company is named after electrical engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla. One of the company’s cars, the Tesla Roadster, used an AC motor descended directly from Tesla’s original 1882 design.

New 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Leaked

Mercedes-Benz will officially unveil the new E-Class at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS).

Until then, the car’s photo gallery was generously leaked online by the guys at Auto-Presse. So, let’s take a closer look at the tenth generation E-Class as shown in the soon-to-be official press shots.

The car’s design bears a strong resemblance to the lines shown by the C-Class and the S-Class. Mercedes-Benz naturally adapted the design of this model to the one shown by its other sedan siblings and left the E-Class without its previous identity.

The car now looks just like you’d expect of a model fitted in between the C-Class and the S-Class. Mercedes’ German counterparts apply the same “Matryoshka” effect on their ranges, so why shouldn’t the Stuttgart-born brand do it as well?

The new E-Class is 43 mm longer than its predecessor and has had its wheelbase increased by 65 mm. The difference between the length and the wheelbase is made by shorter front and back overhangs.

However, the designers managed to make the hood rather long and still pulled off an elegant look, just like most of its predecessors had. What’s left to be seen is whether the new look will stand the test of time, but we’ll only know the answer to this in ten years or so.

The 4,923 mm (193.8 in) body has a drag coefficient of only 0.23, and serious weight-saving measures have been applied to make the new E-Class as light as it can be. Thanks to the improved aerodynamic specs, the car will provide less noise at highway speeds and improved fuel economy.

The guys at Mercedes-Benz didn’t settle for aerodynamic tweaks to lower the perceived decibels inside, so the new E-Class features better soundproofing and improved NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) characteristics.

At launch, the new E-Class will be available with several engine options. The entry in the MY 2017 E-Class range will be the E200, fitted with a four-cylinder gasoline engine. Its diesel equivalent will be the E220d, which features an all-new four-cylinder unit.

According to Auto Presse, the only transmission available at launch will be the 9G-Tronic automatic.

After the initial launch, other engine options will be available. Among them, Mercedes-Benz will offer a plug-in hybrid called the E350e, good for around 30 kilometers (18,6 miles) of 100% electric driving. The E350e is said to provide a hybrid drivetrain with 279 HP and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque on tap. Obviously, the AMG division is hard at work on the upcoming E63, expected to be shown in a few months from now.

The interior of the new E-Class looks more like the one in the S-Class than the one of its smaller brothers. Depending on the equipment level and the design line chosen, several trim and color options are available. The top trim features two large displays, each with a 12.3 inch diagonal. The driver can switch between the three available styles for the design of the digital gauges. The visual effect of these is impressive since the two displays are merged under a cover glass and a single bump in the dash. The entry-level trim doesn’t look as sharp.

The technology package of the new E-Class also features the first touch controls offered on a steering wheel. They respond to vertical and lateral “swiping” movements. Also in the technology field, the MY 2017 E-Class features a semi-autonomous driving mode capable of switching lanes and handling more complex driving tasks than the previous Distronic could.

Jay Leno Tests Trike with 197 HP Hayabusa Engine, Seems to Really Like It

Jay Leno has released his first review of the year, a drive in a reverse trike called the Tanom Invader.

Since the famous comedian and his ever-growing garage needs no further introduction, it’s time to move on to the Tanom Invader.

Unveiled last spring, the reversed trike (two wheels at the front) is built in the USA and features a 197 HP Suzuki Hayabusa engine. Unlike some motorbike engine conversions for three- or four-wheeled vehicles, the Tanom Invader features a reverse gear. The transmission is, of course, a sequential, six-speed, straight-cut, Suzuki-sourced unit. The reverse is done with a different gear attached to the first one, just like in most cars.

The controls for the steering, brakes, clutch and throttle are just like the ones in a car, and the sequential transmission has paddles on the steering wheel. Since it’s considered a motorcycle, the “rider” and their passenger must wear helmets. Considering that crash testing for this category isn’t done by the same standards as it is with cars, we strongly suggest you don’t do as Jay Leno does and wear a helmet if you ever ride in one of these.

As mentioned, the vehicle is legally considered a motorcycle and obeys specific regulations for this type of vehicle, despite it having a covered cockpit and a windshield with a functional wiper.

Obviously, the Invader is Tanom Motors’ flagship and the most expensive variant in the range, starting at $55,000 and built to deliver maximum thrills to its occupants.

The guys at Tanom provide the Invader with delivery miles and always use new components for their vehicles. Their appetite for the Hayabusa engine made them the biggest buyers of this motorcycle model in the USA, Rideapart notes. In an ingenious move, Tanom Motors sells off the components it doesn’t use for conversion to get back on their investment.

Audi US Recalls Around 22,000 Cars for Airbag Issues

It seems that more and more carmakers have trouble with the airbags fitted to their cars. Now, it’s Volkswagen Group of America’s turn to recall no less than 22,000 Audis in two airbag-related campaigns. If you own these particular models, you should check with your local dealership as soon as possible.

In the first safety campaign, Audi will recall 21,074 examples of the 2012-2013 A6 manufactured between March 28, 2011, and March 25, 2013, and 2012-2013 A7 models built between January 25, 2015, and March 19, 2013.

Apparently, in the models featuring heated and cooled seats, the Passenger Occupant Detection System (PODS), which activates the front passenger airbags, doesn’t work properly and may not deploy the passenger-side airbags in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

As a consequence, Audi dealerships will install a PODS repair kit, free of charge, of course. Fortunately, no injuries or deaths related to this issue have been reported, and the recall will begin in February 2016.

In the second campaign, 904 models of the 2015 A3 Cabriolet, manufactured between June 5, 2014, and April 1, 2015, will be recalled by the Volkswagen Group of America, this time because of a driver or front passenger seat cover that has been incorrectly stitched. Due to this issue, the airbag might not function as it should and might not deploy in the event of a crash.

Just like in the first case, no injuries or deaths have been reported, and Audi will replace the driver’s and passenger’s seat cover, free of charge, starting next month.

The last recall that Audi conducted because of an airbag problem was back in 2014, when the German carmaker called back no less than 850,000 A4 models built after 2012. Then, Audi’s own software malfunctioned and prevented airbags from properly deploying in case of a crash.

Also related to this system that is supposed to save lives, in November 2015, the US Department of Transportation announced that Takata, one of the world’s largest airbag manufacturers, would be fined $70 million for its failure to manufacture and handle safe units for over 30 million cars.

Tesla Model S Burns to the Ground while Using Supercharger in Norway

Electric vehicles have plenty of advantages over the vehicles we feed at the gas pump. Avoiding fire hazards isn't one of them, though, as exemplified by a recent Tesla Model S that burned to a crisp while using a Supercharger over in Norway.

The incident, which reduced most of the car to a pile of ashes, took place in January 1st. The owner of the Model S in question had plugged his car into a Supercharger station, leaving the vehicle afterwards.

As you'll be able to see in the video below, which came to our attention thanks to Redditor Vik1ng, the EV was engulfed by the flames, with the charging station also burning in the process.

Since we're talking about Lithium-Ion batteries, firefighters used a special chemical solution to fight the flames. Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the fiery incident.

Taking sides

While Lithium-Ion batteries catching fire while charging aren't anything new, the flaming incident has led to boiling debates over the internet. As a result, a number of what we like to call grey arguments have emerged.

For instance, certain question the safety of the Supercharger station involved in the fire, talking about a temporary installation.

Others have rushed to compare the incident with the wave of hoverboard fires. Sure, the latter are also being caused by Lithium-Ion batteries catching fire, but comparing the cheap Chinese hardware to Tesla's batteries simply doesn't make sense. Brand- and image-related details aside, there's a reason for the hefty price of the Model S.

Waiting for Tesla's response

We're pretty sure Tesla will investigate the fire and come up with a solution, if necessary. That's because the Palo Alto automaker has kept a close eye on previous flaming Model S incidents.

We'll remind you that, back in 2013, a pair of Model S crashes that brought underbody damage led to the vehicles catching fire. Upon digging into the matter, Tesla added a titanium underbody shield, as well as aluminum deflector plates to the Model S.

2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA Facelift Spied with Minimum Camo Hiding Minimum Changes

The Mercedes-Benz GLA is the last model of the A-Class family to receive its minor mid-life facelift, and just like with the rest of the range, it looks like it’s going to be a very discreet affair.

The small crossover has proven to be a real success for Mercedes-Benz, and just by looking at it, it's easy to see why. The GLA is basically a more masculine version of the A-Class with a slightly higher seating position and increased ground clearance.

All these modifications over its A-Class sibling are obvious enough to be instantly noticed, yet subtle enough to keep the GLA from actually ending up in the crossover area. It’s still elegant, agile and sporty, much more so than adventurous or robust, two adjectives much more suited for an SUV.

We’ve seen the direction BMW went in with the new X1, making it larger and more SUVish then before, but it’s too early to talk about any significant changes for the GLA. For now, all we’re dealing with is a facelift, so there will be no change in dimensions or anything like that. Besides, even the old X1 was based on the 3 Series, a car one segment higher than the A-Class, the model that shares its platform with the GLA.

If you’ve been following the compact-segment facelift procedure Mercedes-Benz has been employing for the rest of the models, you’ll be pretty up to date with what’s in store for the GLA. On the outside, expect some minor changes to the car’s front and rear lights - just like before, the shape will remain the same with only the graphics going through an update.

The Mercedes-AMG GLA45 4MATIC has already got the 21 hp bump the other models received, so there won’t be anything new there. The A-Class also gained a new entry-level version with a 1.6-liter 102 hp engine called A160, but whether the GLA will get it as well is only a guess.

More significant changes will come inside, where the GLA will be equipped with a larger 8-inch display for its COMAND unit that will now be compatible with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink. The GLA will also benefit from the DYNAMIC SELECT option that will come for the first time with adaptive suspension. Unfortunately for the small crossover, the dashboard design will remain the same, cluttered with way too many buttons and showing none of those simple, flowing lines that sit so well in the C-Class and all the other new models.

But if the GLA was a success up until now, we see no reason why its fate should change following this facelift. The new model is expected to debut in the second half of this year as a 2017 model, so there’s still some time left to gather more information.

Below is an older video of the GLA while further down the page you can find the latest spy shots showing the crossover in silver and sporting a huge sunroof and a different front bumper.

Challenger Hellcat Owner Installs Hellcat-Branded Tires, Everybody Hates Him

When you go out there and grab yourself a Hellcat, you basically sign a contract that comes with plenty of reasons to be hated. While these reasons are usually linked to people inside Z06 Corvettes or Vipers, the owner of the 707-pony Challenger in the image above (via Redditor Furd_Turguson) found a way to attract hate from fellow Hellcat owners.

As you all know, there are enough people who can't easily distinguish a Hellcat from a Challenger powered by a humble naturally aspirated 6.4-liter Hemi.

Well, the driver of the supercharged Challenger seen here wanted to ensure everybody knew his ride was more muscular than your average Mopar machine.

As a result, the guy cloned the Hellcat badge on the front fenders, with each of the Challenger's Pirelli P Zero tires now getting its own symbol of supercharged power.

Sure, the idea itself may not be that bad (think NASCAR), but the devil is in the details. For one thing, these tire badges are actually cardboard cutouts that have been glued to the rubber.

Then there's the man's need to also list the output of the car - his branding might even lead to confusion and we wouldn't want anybody believing the Challenger Hellcat delivers 707 hp at each wheel, would we?

As you can see in the image, the supercharger is off the car, so basically, we're not even looking at a proper Hellcat here.

On a more serious note, the Redditor mentioned above explains the Dodge paid a visit to the service due to "a bearing issue caused by the type of fuel he [the owner] was using."

Does that mean tuning is involved? We're not here to talk detonation, but such rumors will only get this owner in extra trouble with the Hellcat community. To be honest, this looks like one of those forum-tar-and-feather cases.

Bentley Bentayga Spotted in Bristol, Here Are the Real World Photos

Now that we've talked about the cars that kept us on our toes in 2015 here in the autoevolution office, the time has come to act accordingly to what the calendar shows. Since we are now in 2016, we want to show you one of the most important premieres of the previous year, the Bentley Bentayga, out in the real world.

A blue example of the lavish SUV was spotted on its home turf - the car was seen in Bristol, UK. It seems this Bentayga was welcomed into our world more than a month ago, with the car having been registered on November 26, 2015.

The image, which comes from Redditor illitirate_adam, has generated comments that act as a reminder of the fact that the world still needs some time to get used to the fact that the Flying B badge now rests on an SUV.

While we're far from getting our kicks from high-riding vehicles, we can't ignore the idea that the Bentley brand is perfect for such a machine.

For one thing, Crewe knows how to make a two-ton-plus Continental GT feel at least thirty percent lighter than it really is. Then there's the attention to cabin details, with Bentley's no-weight-compromise interior treats being perfectly suitable for an SUV.

While we are on this topic, we'll remind you the automaker introduced stone veneers earlier today, even though the new cabin treatment is not as heavy as you'd imagine.

The Bentayga is far from the most extreme SUV of the Volkswagen Group. And this isn't half bad.

Then again, in the world of controversy, the Bentayga is far from having a hard time in terms of social acceptance. With the Porsche Cayenne having paved the way over a decade ago and the Lamborghini Urus set to irritate purists soon, we expect this Bentley to be integrated into our contemporary automotive culture with relative ease.

Alfa Romeo SUV Interior Partially Revealed in First Image of the Car

Ladies and gentlemen drivers, you are now looking at the very first image of the Alfa Romeo SUV. Yes, we know, this isn't exactly an expected reveal, but since the interior is partially revealed here, we can't complain.

If you've seen an Alfa Romeo Giulia dashboard (included in the gallery bellow), you won't be surprised by what the upcoming SUV, whom friends call Typo 949, has to offer.

However, whole the sporty instrument cluster and the center stack are familiar, the infotainment display is now surrounded by a more massive structure, a fitting move given the vehicle's destination.

Some of the other details shown here include the size of the greenhouse, as well as the (apparently) flat surface obtained once the rear seats are folded - Captain Obvious report over.

Those of you who are still raising an eyebrow over Alfa Romeo building an SUV will be reminded the Italians plan to make the most out of the new platform that serves the Giulia.

As a result, the SUV seen here will play in the D segment, rivaling cars such as the BMW X3 or Volvo's future XC60 replacement.

The complete engine line-up, which may not be available on all markets, will include a two-liter turbo, the Ferrari-derived 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 that helped the Giulia become the fastest sedan on the Nurburgring, as well as a pair of diesels (a 2.2-liter four-cylinder and a 3-liter V6).

The pic might just be Ralp Gilles' New Year's Resolution. One of his many.

This picture is just one of the reasons for which Ralph Gilles, former SRT CEO and current Head of Design at Fiat Chrysler, is popular on Instagram. The FCA man posted the image to kick off the year, while also including former Pininfarina and FCA drawing board master Lorenzo Ramaciotti in the equation. You know, the man we have to thank for the styling of cars such as the Ferrari 550 Maranello or the current-generation Maserati Quattroporte. Needless to say, the Alfa 4C and the Giulia also come from his portfolio.

"I have got to dedicate my year and this era of my career to one of my true Heroes, design Legend (& very soft spoken) Lorenzo Ramaciotti. Many of you may not have heard of him but have likely loved the cars he has had his hands in. Mr. Ramaciotti has had one of the most illustrious careers an automobile designer can have. Having led one of Italy's most famous design houses, Pininfarina for 17 years and contributed there for an incredibly prolific 33 years. He came out of retirement in 2007 to lead Fiat design. In 2009 I met him as my colleague, global boss and most importantly a true mentor," Gilles said on Instagram.

"Never a strong hand but a deep and always thoughtful way of giving invaluable advice. He defines the term class act. His evergreen passion is an inspiration to me. It was with great humility that I took over the job of overseeing FCAdesign from him back in April of 2015. Humbling because there is always so much more to learn from such a master. As 2016 rolls in I can't explain what an honor it is to lead the design aspects of such a cadre of incredible brands," Fiat Chrysler's leading designer added.

Returning to Alfa Romeo's SUV, this is set to make its European debut in the final quarter of this year, the Alfa Romeo SUV will also land on US soil, but we'll have to wait until 2017 for that.

The Alpine Brand Will Be Relaunched Soon. Very Soon

Alpine has recently confirmed on Twitter that the legendary brand will be brought back to life by Renault on February 16, 2016, at the Geneva Motor Show, and comes together with the new A120 sports car, a real rival for the base Porsche Cayman.

The successor of the iconic A110 will also have a hardcore version with 300hp, which should come out within the next two years, a year after the base model. The power is expected to come from the 1.8-liter TCe, mid-rear engine, linked to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox, borrowed from the new Renault Talisman.

Given that the base model will have somewhere around 250hp, the power output for the sportier version will be extended to the targeted 300hp by means of more aggressive turbocharging. Thanks to that power and the kerb weight of just 1,100kg (2,425 pounds), obtained by using advanced aluminum construction techniques, the new A120 will be a direct rival to Porsche’s facelifted 718 Cayman.

Designers are already working on a cooling system for the hardcore version, which will improve airflow without affecting the front-end aerodynamics and will give the car a more dramatic look.

The engineers are said to try and evoke memories of the Monte Carlo Rally-winning A110 cars, and they mounted front LED lights with a rally-cross style on them. Other external differences from the concept unveiled at the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours Race include the removal of the racing stickers, the exaggerated tow hook and single-nut racing wheels.

Also resembling the A110 are the scalloped hood, the iconic twin spotlights mounted high on the front bumper, the way the shoulder line tapers away beyond the back wheels, or the blue and orange paint scheme.

As recent spyshots revealed, the A120 will have a cutting-edge interior, an Audi TT-style digital dashboard, bucket seats, and a driving position optimized for racing enthusiasts at a perfect distance from the pedals and steering wheels. The driver will be able to change gears using the steering wheel-mounted paddles.

The prices for the Alpine A120 are expected to start at 40,000 euros for the base car and reach 50,000 euros for the more extreme version.

Ferrari Spinoff Now Complete: Why You Shouldn't Worry About the Fiat Chrysler Separation

January 3, 2016, will go down in history as the day when Ferrari completely separated from Fiat, with the Prancing Horse now being fully listed as a standalone company on both the New York Stock Exchange and Milan's Borsa Italiana.

While certain Ferraristi might be worried about the move, we want to explain why there's no need to fret over this.

First of all, the move doesn't surprise those following the industry. The separation plan started in late 2014, when Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) made the spinoff decision public. About one year later, Ferrari made its Initial Public Offering (IPO), but only about 10 percent of the company was listed last fall.

While 10 percent of the automaker is still owned by Piero Ferrari, Enzo's son, the remaining 80 percent were destined for exiting FCA shareholders.

This brings us to the present day, with FCA having delivered on its promise to offer the remaining 80 percent to its shareholders. As a result, FCA shareholders received one common Ferrari share for every ten FCA common shares.

Also, those who hold FCA MCS units (Mandatory Convertible Securities) received 0.77369 common Ferrari shares for each MCS unit of $100 in notional amount.

Just as important is the fact that the puppet masters who control the company remain largely the same.

The Agnelli Family (founders of Fiat) remain Ferrari's largest shareholder, with 24 percent of the stock.

Nevertheless, since investors with a rich history receive special privileges, the Agnelli family, together with Piero Ferrari, hold just under 49 percent of voting rights. The two sides ensured any potential hostile takeover is prevented by signing a special agreement back in December last year.

While Ferrari's operations continue to sit at a stratospheric level, we can't say the same about the stock exchange situation. The New York Stock Exchange saw the share price remaining in the $52 area dictated by the IPO, but this has now dropped to $48, which means the company is valued at $9.1 billion (EUR 8.4 million at the current exchange rate).

As for FCA shares, their 2016 price (post-spinoff) sits more than 30 percent below the value seen at the end of 2015.

One of the most important financial questions for Ferrari has to do with the company's annual sales volume. With the carmaker making the transition from the more traditional way of former helm man Luca di Montezemolo to the picture we currently see, which was painted by FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne, it is expected to expand its annual sales volume from 7,000 to 10,000 units.

Those of you who enjoy indulging themselves in the complete details of the spinoff are invited to check out the press release below.

P.S.: Here's a more detailed story on why Ferrari's stock exchange listing is a positive step.

Nissan Kicks Crossover into Production Phase

Just when we thought the automotive industry had all the crossovers it needed - and then some - Nissan announced it's launching a new one. It'll be called Kicks and will be based on the concept car of the same name.

Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said the new model will be sold globally, starting with Latin America, where it will debut later this year. The Japanese company is investing $192 million in its Resende, Brazil plant to manufacture the Kicks. In addition, 600 new jobs will be created at the facility, which was inaugurated in 2014 and currently produces the March and Versa models.

"With Nissan Kicks, we will go beyond the obvious to pack a punch with a strong design statement and the performance that our customers crave," said Jose Valls, chairman of Nissan Latin America.

Although very athletic and giving off a 2nd-generation-Juke vibe, we wouldn't necessarily call the Kicks "a strong design statement". Especially when we consider how many times production models are toned down from their concept versions. And even more so when we consider that, since the Juke, Nissan hasn't been so bold in design.

But we digress. Back to the Kicks, which was unveiled, in concept form, at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show. It derived from yet another concept: the Extrem, originally shown in Sao Paulo in 2012. Although the mass production model will be sold all over the world, the Kicks concept was created with the Brazilian market in mind.

"When our team from Nissan Brazil team collaborated with our colleagues in Japan to create the Kicks concept vehicle, which was inspired by our country and culture, the result was extraordinary," said Francois Dossa, president of Nissan Brazil.

It was actually a three-way effort, with Nissan Design America, based in San Diego, also pitching in. All three design teams are also involved in developing the production model.

2016 Tesla New Cars

Details of the new and updated Tesla models launching in Australia in 2015.

Model X
Tesla Model X – Q4
The first SUV from the electric car brand will commence local deliveries in the latter part of 2016.
The Tesla Model X has already been revealed internationally, and the start-up rightly claims this SUV will be the quickest car of its type on the planet, with the P90D model claiming a 0-100km/h time of as little as 3.4 seconds with the Ludicrous Mode upgrade.
It won’t be the only model offered, with a less performance-oriented version – the 90D – also set to be offered initially. Range for the 90D is set to be claimed at 470km for the most battery-efficient model.
Those model names are familiar from the Model S, and the X shares the same platform and battery/motor layout as that car. Aside from the SUV-style body, the Model X introduces the Falcon Wing doors and on the optioned-up Signature Edition models, 22-inch wheels are fitted.
Being an SUV there is extra practicality to call upon, with seven forward-facing seats offering room for “seven adults and all of their gear”.
Pricing isn’t yet confirmed for Australia, though it is likely to carry a premium over the Model S. Stay tuned for our launch review of the car in the third quarter of 2016.

2016 Toyota New Cars

Details of the new and updated Toyota models launching in Australia in 2016.
Toyota Prius Fuji Speedway__11
Prius — March
Industry top-seller Toyota updated a staggering 13 models in 2015. Thus, it has launched, replaced or renewed vehicles representing three-quarters of its sales volume.
Obviously, 2016 will not be quite so busy.
The new Prius is 4540mm long, 1760mm wide and 1470mm tall, making it 60mm longer than the third-generation hybrid hatch and 15mm wider. Although the new Prius is the first vehicle to use the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) component set, the new car’s wheelbase remains unchanged at 2700mm.
Toyota has confirmed that the fourth-gen Prius will continue with a nickel-metal hydride battery, albeit one that is “smaller, more energy-dense” than previous editions.
2016_toyota_prius_08a
The company has also replaced the current car’s torsion beam rear suspension for a new double-wishbone system. Thanks to the smaller battery pack and new rear suspension, boot space is said to be improved.
Fuel economy, at least under EU testing, is said be improved by 18 percent. By our calculations that see the car’s EU consumption figure drop from 3.9L/100km to 3.2L/100km.
The new car’s interior will be available in either cool grey or black, and vision out the front, sides and back is reportedly improved.
Available safety tech will include adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, pre-collision braking, lane departure warning with steering wheel alerts, and automatic high-beam control.
toyota-landcruiser-70-series
70-Series LandCruiser — October
The venerable Toyota 70-Series LandCruiser will get an update in late 2016 that is intended to bring the old workhorse, and fleet-favourite, up to five-star ANCAP standards. This ensures the old beast’s future for some time yet.
In addition to their currently standard driver and passenger front airbags, 70 Series single-cab variants will gain side curtain and driver’s knee airbags, taking the count to five.
All 70 Series body styles – single- and dual-cab, wagon and troop carrier – will also be equipped with electronic stability control, brake assist and cruise control.
Reflecting Australia’s position as one of the world’s dominant markets for the old 70, the global development program considers us it lead market. Engineering continues.
Extras
The production version of Toyota’s C-HR baby SUV concept will make its world premiere at the start of March in Geneva, giving Toyota a vital rival to the likes of the Mazda CX-3.
Toyota Australia understandably has its hand up for the car, and while nothing is concrete, the massive sales upside in what is a booming segment should ensure it arrives here. However, it might miss out on a 2016 launch and come around Q1, 2017 instead.

2016 Volvo New Cars

Details of the new and updated Volvo Cars models launching in Australia in 2016.
Volvo XC90 R-Design
XC90 R-Design — Q1
The R-Design version of the very well-received all-new Volvo XC90 should finally get here at the end of Q1, 2016 — following the new version’s local launch in Inscription and Momentum spec levels in August, 2015.
The R-Design will be available across all three XC90 engine options — the 165kW/470Nm D5, the 235kW/400Nm T6 and the 300kW/640Nm T8 petrol-electric hybrid.
Local pricing is expected to be $97,950, $101,950 and $121,950 plus on-road costs respectively ($1000 higher than an inscription D5 or T6 variant).
The R-Design’s styling changes including a revised grille, new-look front spoiler, “silk metal” window trim surround, dual tail-pipes, silver look roof rails and side-mirror caps in matte silver. Wheels will be 20-inch wheels as standard,
The interior is said to feature sports seats and a steering wheel trimmed in Nubuck perforated leather, while “special R-Design details” including a unique shift knob, floor mats and illuminated tread plates are also offered. The key to the car is also different to the standard models, finished in “exclusive R-Design leather”.
A tablet-style touchscreen media unit and 12.3-inch digital driver display are offered as standard on the R-Design, too.
037 Volvo XC90
XC90 T8 — Q2/Q3
The Volvo XC90 range will grow to include the T8 twin-engine plug-in hybrid variant around July, exclusively in R-Design guise and priced at $122,95 plus on-road costs.
The T8 ‘Twin Engine’ powertrain combines the car’s twin-charged T6 petrol engine with a 60kW electric motor for peak outputs of around 300kW and 640Nm.
Volvo claims average CO2 emissions of 49 grams per kilometre. Fuel consumption on the combined cycle should fall around 2.5L/100km. At the push of a button the driver can switch to silent and zero emission driving on pure electric power, where the range will be around 40km under careful driving.
A series of battery cells runs along the car’s Scalable Product Architecture — Volvo’s platform that premieres under the XC90 and will be modulated to fit other future models over the coming years.
volvo-v40-cross-country-1
V40/V40 Cross Country update — Q4
The Volvo V40 small hatch and its Cross Country crossover spinoff (current model pictured) will get an update around August, to tide it over until a brand new one based on the company’s CMA modular Scalable Architecture premieres as early as 2017.
This update to Volvo’s answer to the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and GLA models is likely to see the addition of some equipment. It will come less than a year after the company added a pair of new entry-level engines and enhanced specification across the range.
Thanks to strong campaign pricing over the past few month, sale of the V40 have spiked. They’re up almost 25 per cent this year to 1083, making it Volvo’s second top-seller after the XC60 (1624).
Its volume is about half the BMW 1 Series, one-third of the A-Class and around one-fifth that of the Audi A3 segment leader. Meantime the V40 Cross Country has managed a smaller 362 units YTD.
2016_volvo_s90_overseas_08
S90 — Q4
The final piece in the Volvo puzzle for 2016 will be the gorgeous S90 sedan, set for launch here around the fourth quarter (though Volvo Cars Australia has previously said it could come here as early as August).
The S90 follows in the wheel tracks of the XC90, which marked the beginning of Volvo’s rebirth as a top-shelf on the back of a $15 billion dollar investment from its new parent company, China’s Geely.
The same minimalist Scandinavian styling dominates inside and out, while underneath lies the Swedish carmaker’s new Scaleable Platform Architecture. Buyers will find the same powertrains and eight-speed automatic transmission that motivate the XC90, led by the T8 PHEV.
2016_volvo_s90_overseas_06
The S90 will also feature Volvo’s Pilot Assist semi-autonomous driving technology, designed to keep the vehicle inside its lane at speeds up to 130km/h. A new day/night extension of Volvo’s City Safety collision avoidance system is also featured. In Australia, as a recent announcement revealed, this will include kangaroos.
The interior will be a familiar space for buyers that have already experienced the XC90, with the exterior’s minimalist themes continuing into the cabin.
It is expected that Volvo will position the new sedan as a rival to the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Ford Will Recall Almost 10,000 Cars in the USA

Ford Will Recall Almost 10,000 Cars in the USA

Ford has announced two separate recalls in the USA, targeting almost 10,000 cars.

The first of them is aimed at specific Ford models made between January 11, 2012, and October 14, 2013, and affects around 9,017 cars, Autoblog reports.

This recall targets the engine wiring harness of certain Escape and Focus ST cars, which may not have enough compression on the wires in the loom. In extreme cases, the absolute pressure sensor in the intake manifold could send wrong signals to the ECU and make the engine stall, or reduce its power. Other potential effects include the illumination of the engine malfunction light in the dash or hesitation on acceleration.

Ford will contact the owners of the affected vehicles and the recall will begin on January 4, 2016. So far, no accidents related to this issue have been reported. Dealers have been instructed to replace the wiring harnesses on those cars.

This isn’t the first wiring recall for the Ford Focus ST in the USA, nor for the Ford Escape. Around 160,000 vehicles were recalled starting October 2014 for a similar issue. Some of the cars were sold in Canada and Mexico, and those were recalled as well.

According to a story from Automotive News, this is the eleventh time the MY 2013 Ford Escape is called back to dealers. A Ford spokesperson revealed to the publication that no single Escape is affected by all the 11 recalls mentioned.

The second callback issued by the Blue Oval is aimed at only 868 vehicles but affects more models. This particular action targets the 2013 Model Year of the Ford Explorer, Taurus, Taurus Police Interceptor, Explorer Police Utility, Flex, Lincoln MKT, and Lincoln MKS.

The owners of the affected cars will be contacted by Ford dealers to schedule a service appointment to replace some parts of the fuel delivery system. The company has done some research and discovered that the fuel delivery module could crack in a worst case scenario.

2016 Suzuki New Cars

Vitara Turbo — April
Suzuki’s sales in Australia have bounced back in 2015, up 11 per cent. 2016 is shaping up even better.
April will see the Japanese company launch a new version of its most interesting new model, the reborn Vitara, with a new turbocharged engine.
Marketed in Europe as the Vitara S, the Vitara Turbo’s 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine produces 103kW/220Nm — a 17kW/64Nm advantage over the current 1.6-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol.
Suzuki Australia says the Vitara Turbo will be available in front- and all-wheel drive, and will become the flagship in the line-up, replacing the RT-X.
Suzuki hasn’t confirmed final pricing and specifications for the Vitara Turbo at this stage. The outgoing 1.6 RT-X is available exclusively with AWD from $31,990 plus on-road costs.
The Vitara RT-S with the existing 1.6-litre engine will continue as the entry point to the range, retaining its $22,990 drive-away pricing.
Additionally, all Vitara models will come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto from January, increasing the value further.
suzuki-baleno-hero
Baleno — potentially Q3
The reborn Suzuki Baleno could come to Australia around September 2016, expanding the company’s light car line-up — playing to its strengths.
Suzuki Australia is currently working through the business case for our market. Given it will come out of India, the odds of sharp pricing seem good.
Revealed in Frankfurt last September, the five-seat Baleno is 3995mm long, about 150mm (half a foot) longer than aSwift. But boot space is rated at 355 litres with the rear seats up, more than 50 per cent greater.
There are two engines globally, headlined by a new unit called the 1.0-litre Boosterjet. This three-cylinder turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine develops 82kW/170Nm and can be paired with either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic.
suzuki-baleno-interior
The Baleno will also be available with a 1.2-litre four-cylinder motor that makes 66kW of power and 120Nm of torque, and can be had with either a five-speed manual or CVT.
Beneath the Baleno’s “liquid flow” skin, the city hatch is based on a new Suzuki platform that’s said to increase rigidity by 10 percent and reduce weight by 15 percent compared to the company’s current offerings.
Features available on the new Baleno include xenon headlights, LED driving lights and tail-lights, climate control air-conditioning, radar-guided adaptive cruise control, driver adjustable speed limiter, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s compatible with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
2016 Suzuki Ignis
Suzuki Ignis — Q4
The return of Suzuki nameplates from the 1990s (Sierra, Vitara, Baleno…) could continue in the final quarter of 2016 with the potential launch of the new Ignis.
Based on the Suzuki iM-4 concept revealed at the 2015 Geneva motor show, the all-new Ignis debuts cool styling that follows the trend set by the newly launched Vitara.
At 3693 millimetres long, the little Ignis is barely larger than a Celerio, while its tallboy design is somewhat reminiscent of the original Sierras.
2016 Suzuki Ignis
Expect the 1.0-litre directly-injected turbocharged petrol Boosterjet engine to appear in the Ignis.
The interior images show a new design trend for Suzuki with a Mercedes-Benz-esque floating screen atop the dashboard and Vitara-style changeable colour panels for the dashboard.
The Australian Ignis business case is being worked through alongside the Baleno, though the Ignis looks set to be imported from Japan.
Should both of these cars arrive, Suzuki will have four models in the Micro/Light segment, and three in the small SUV market.
2016 Suzuki Ignis
Extras
Suzuki Kizashi stocks are understood to be sufficient to see the company through to about the middle of 2016, but beyond that its future is in some doubt. The cpmpany has only sold 119 this year — giving it just 0.3 per cent market share.
