The limited-edition Ferrari 458 Speciale A is already fetching a premium.

The first of 499 Ferrari 458 Speciale A exotics was auctioned off as part of Ferrari’s celebration of 60 years in the U.S. at Beverly Hills, selling for $900,000 with proceeds benefitting Daybreak, the American branch of the Italian charity whose mission for nearly 25 years is to advance research towards a cure for genetic diseases.

Sporting a retractable aluminum hard top, the Ferrari 458 Speciale A is the Italian automaker’s most powerful convertible ever, with a naturally aspirated V8 engine with 605 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque.
