In total, 1.67 million vehicles are affected globally by three separate issues. The first problem has to do with a faulty brake master cylinder that can hinder braking performance which Toyota says affects 1.05 million vehicles in Japan and 615,000 in other markets. Affected models are the Crown Majesta, Crown, Noah, Voxy, Corolla Rumion and Auris, along with three Lexus models including the IS, GS and LS sedans.

The second recall affects 759,000 vehicles globally which includes 423,000 in the United States. These cars have a faulty fuel delivery system which can result in a gas leak and a fire.

Finally, 190,000 front-wheel drive Corolla Rumion and Auris models in Japan are being recalled for because they were not fit with an idling feature to fix a defective fuel evaporative emission control unit.

In the U.S. alone, Toyota has recalled 5.3 million vehicles this year alone.
