Ferrari reveals F60America to celebrate 60 years in the country

Ferrari has revealed its special-edition anniversary model for the North American market, the appropriately-named F60America.

"To celebrate Ferrari's 60th year in North America, Maranello has returned to its 1950s and 60s tradition of producing strictly limited edition, built-to-order cars," the company notes.

The F60America essentially serves as an open-top variant of the F12 Berlinetta, powered by a V12 engine with 730 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque. Drivers can expect to hit 62 mph from a standstill in just 3.1 seconds.

Two leather-trimmed roll-hoops sit behind the driver and passenger, anchored by carbon-fiber-trimmed buttresses that stretch from the cockpit to the rear of the car. The cabin is covered by a light fabric top, usable at speeds of up to 75 mph.

The exterior is clad in blue with a white stripe down the center -- matching Ferrari's North American Racing Team livery, while the driver's side of the cockpit completes the 'America' theme with read leather and an American-flag motif on the seats.

The car will be formally unveiled tomorrow at an anniversary gala dinner in Beverly Hills, though all 10 examples are already spoken for.
